My coaching works

because, along with listening and laughter, I use evidence-based strategies. I have a system that motivates teens from start to solution. Like magic!

  • what they most want
  • what’s blocking them
  • how they can slay the blocks and create their dream life

Why child and adolescent life coaching?

Through life coaching, your child/teen will learn the necessary skills needed to help them achieve their personal goals.

Your teen gets an unbiased person to talk to.

When your child/teen works with us, they will have the opportunity to explore their challenges and learn ways of overcoming them.

As a coach I am a sounding board, guide and accountability partner. During coaching sessions, I will assist them with:

  • Exploring personal challenges, passions and goals in a supportive environment
  • Becoming better equipped to deal with roadblocks in life.
  • Cultivating a positive outlook.
  • Taking action on what matters to them.

Coaching can help teenagers learn the skills they need to thrive in life. Often, these skills are not taught in schools.

Coaching helps your teenager to find their way if they are deciding what professional direction to take.

With my teen coaching, kids feel heard and understood…and excited about creating positive change

How does it work

  • We use age-appropriate techniques, games and activities in our life coaching sessions for kids/teens to ensure we build a strong relationship in which the person can feel safe to explore their feelings.
  • Our approach will vary significantly from child to child depending on their age, experiences, and emotional state.
  • The sessions are fun, personal and engaging.

Q&A

As opposed to traditional therapy, life coaching is more relaxed and forward-focused. If your teen has tried psychotherapy or counselling with limited results, life coaching may be the answer!
It is not uncommon for teens to resist outside support. Overcoming barriers to coaching is a normal part of the process and should not deter parents from getting professional help. We are skilled at working through these kinds of barriers and, while you should expect the process to take more time, it is likely that your child will benefit from life coaching.
The extent of parent involvement depends on the age of your child and the nature of their goals. We try to offer a reasonable amount of confidentiality so that your teen feels comfortable to be open and honest. Some clients benefit from life coaching sessions with frequent parent inclusion, while others do better when coaching is their own private space. We always inform parents of safety issues and will involve parents in counselling to the extent necessary for achieving our goals.
After discovery call and psychometric assessments, coach will decide number of sessions. usually once/week sessions until your child/ teen is achieving their goals. Sessions can gradually reduce in frequency when our goal shifts to maintaining progress.

Parenting skills

There are many guides and how-tos for new parents, by the time their children reach adolescence, parents often find themselves lacking the skills needed to help their teenage son or daughter.

This can make the teenage years a frustrating time for both parents and teens.

You want to give them happiness and confidence, but you just don’t seem to understand each other.

Getting this phase right or wrong heavily influences your child’s future chances of happiness and success.

Parents of tweens, teens, and young adults are supported in developing strong family communication, consistent self-care practices, and actions that honour and nourish growth for self and child.
